Because of the city’s strategic location on the Cape Peninsula, Cape Town Surf Camps are able to offer world class waves, all year round and in any direction! Whichever way the wind is blowing, the Mother City holds incredible surf spots for all abilities, but the water’s chilly here compared to Jeffreys Bay and Durban, so beware – wetsuits are a must. Although this warms up in summer, the waves are not a match for the fun, powerful ones that winter brings!
Beyond the surfing, Cape Town has even more to offer! Beaches, mountains, harbours and gardens – this city has it all. Tourism has boomed in recent years, because visitor safety has greatly improved and media outlets are increasingly producing content persuading people to visit.
The coastlines here are simply unbeatable, against a crystal clear ocean backdrop are colonies of penguins and seals basking in the sun, setting the scene for a truly unforgettable surfing adventure.

African Soul Surfer
This property is set right on the beach at Surfer’s Corner, which boasts waves all year round. Despite being close to central Cape Town, this sheltered spot holds much warmer water than it’s Atlantic rivals. The waves are also mellower, sand bottomed, and generally ideal for advancing your surf skills!
The property offers competitive surf packages which include accommodation, breakfast, equipment rental and of course surf lessons! These are run over two, three or five days, all with a relaxed atmosphere that leave the afternoons open for surfing, dozing or exploring.
Double rooms have shared bathrooms, some have balconies and some breathtaking sea views. Larger groups can book a superior family room, with two bunk beds and a double bed, or a comfort triple room with one bunk bed and a double.
Bluebottle Guesthouse
Staff here want their guests to feel like they’ve escaped to a hidden sanctuary, in which they can unwind and rest in a revitalising atmosphere. Further from the beach than other Cape Town Surf Camps, but this property still does not compromise on location. It is nestled on the slopes of the Muizenberg mountains overlooking a breathtaking coastline.
Staff here have ‘a guy’ for everything! Their unbiased opinions can link guests up with the best in the area for surfing, hiking, kayaking, and many more activities. There is guaranteed to be something that suits everyone, even children who can choose from mini golf, playgrounds and surf schools to entertain themselves while the adults have a day off!
Rooms at Bluebottle Guesthouse sleep mostly duos, although a triple room (King Room) can be booked. Double and twin rooms can come with a sea or harbour view. Some of these views are panoramic. Those who enjoy a taste of luxury can hire a double suite for a room with a little extra space. Each of these are individually designed and have balconies. They boast quality bedding with orthopaedic mattresses and views over the sea and lakes.
Bella Ev Guest House
Bella Ev has a rich soul and character unique to Cape Town Surf Camps. This is down to it’s location in historic Muizenberg, where it is mere moments from popular restaurants, antique shops, art shops, the train, and of course the beach. Combine surfing, history and culture into an unforgettable holiday package!
Bella Ev has a quaint garden for guests to relax in, with a novel from the property’s extensive book library. There is also a television lounge, and meals other than breakfast available on request from the on-site Ottoman Restaurant. From here, full speciality breakfasts are served daily. Visitors can also make use of the laundry facilities for a small additional cost, and excellent on-site massages can be arranged.
Couples can book a small/standard double room, or for a higher price a king room or studio apartment. A family room that sleeps three on a single and double bed can also be booked. Each room has Mediterranean decor, and mountain views. Each one has a desk and en-suite bathroom, in which some rooms feature a Victorian bath. Studios are fitted with a kitchenette.
